“Power to the voice is Power to the People”

Innovative Public School, Borwade (Residential Section) conducted a Debate competition on various themes on 10^th August, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM for the students of Grade 5^th to 10^th. The event was organized by the cultural group.

The aim of organizing debate competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The session was the kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspective that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about the various topics among students.

The event commenced with lighting the lamp and Pooja of Godess Saraswati by the Director Hon. Sambhaji Sathe- Patil, Hon. Kamal Sathe-Patil, the Principal Respected Mrs. Geetanjali Bhoite. Sanskruti & Atharvraj were the anchorers. They introduced the program and explained the rules to the participants.

After felicitation of the judges the competition was started.

The competition was conducted in 2 categories.

Category 1: Jr.Group : Grade 5th  to 7th

Category 2: Sr. Group : Grade 8th to 10th

Topics for Senior group:

1. Is uniform civil code, necessary & desirable or Justice for all the communities?

To begin with, each participant spoke their mind on the respective topic. This led to a wide spectrum of contrasting views. Points presented were accepted by the spectators with cheers and claps. Some of the points even made us think about the facts. There was so much talent in the room. Arguments were made and roved. The competition was so interesting with the exchange of student’s perspective by equally stating the merits and demerits of going for cash less economy. Facts represented by participants were accurate and expressed in decency language. The event was concluded maturely.

The event was judged by Mr. Martin D’sa, Ms. Priyanka D’souza & Mrs, aparna Bhat.
